First Day Blogging (BEWARE)

Howdy World Wide Web!

I guess a Tuesday can be considered a random day to start a blog, but today is the day. My blog layout was an accident. I was trying to scroll through the menu of layouts when all of the sudden a blue layout chose itself. I'm sure I'll figure out a way to change it, but for now, I guess powdered blue shall do. Blue layout 1, Me 0.

Procrastination. I learned it in college better than I should have. I still practice it everyday. And the best way to do that is to be wordy. I'm not sure that my husband likes how long it takes me to explain something because I like to add a joke, sarcasm, or the like into most of my conversations.

Our plan for the weekend is to "re-do" our guest bedroom and turn it into a themed room after our beloved Alma-mater. Yes, we like every Aggie, drank the Kool-aid. I'm really hoping my color scheme turns out well, and not like a sterile institution. Decorating in Maroon and White is no easy task... Well not for me at least. I'm definitely missing the decorator's gene or the organizer's gene for that matter. I think the painting will be the easiest. But getting to paint, will be full of blood, sweat and tears. Maybe I should do 'before', 'during' and 'after' photos.

A very very recent change I made, was to "deactivate" my facebook account. Sneaky facebook doesn't let you delete it. All it does, is go into remission, but if you ever get the itch to "stalk" your friends, friendemies and enemies alike, all you have to do is sign in and everything is still the same. I must say, I'm totally fighting the urge to sign in. But it will not conquer me... Well at least that's my stance for the day. I will probably cave pretty soon.

On a happier note, my husband's cake-day is in 10 days!, and he really wanted a chocolate on chocolate, on top of chocolate cake. So for his 26th birthday I am making a 6 or maybe, if I'm brave enough, 8 layer cake! I found the recipe online, and the cake looks extra yummy times 2!

But since the cake looks a little girly, and I'm sure most men, would find it insulting to be given a pink cake, I'm going to frost it with the chocolate ganache on the sides and the raspberry buttercream on the top. Oh yeah, I'm also doing some Sandra Lee tricks and bought yellow and chocolate cake mix. I'm not brave enough to try and out-do Betty Crocker at her own game. Cross your fingers the cake doesn't slide of the plate due to leveling issues...

I'm definitely talked/written out for the moment.

But here are my 3 personal random "facts" of the post for ya.
  1. I can't do house chores without music.
  2. I love to garden, decorate and DIY projects (in theory that is.)
  3. I get caffeine headaches that don't seem to go away!
Thanks and Gig 'em!
